She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert R. Brooks, Sr.; mother, Lottie O. Hines; and sister, Rita "Cle" Parker. She leaves to cherish her precious memories; her father, Nathaniel L. Hines; her children, Gilbert R. Brooks, Jr. (Keitia) of Raleigh; Nicole R. Hicks (Edward) of Raleigh; stepbrothers, Kenneth L. Chamblee of New York and Ronnie R. Chamblee of Atlanta; grandchildren, Joshua D. Brooks, Indya V. Hicks, Imanuel A. Brooks, Edwinna Hicks, Edward V. Hicks, Jr., and Eain Hicks; niece, Keia C. Parker, great-nephew, Stephen N. Hines, Jr. and great-nieces, Demika H. Sams and Brittani C. Hines all of Raleigh; sister in law, Bonita Brooks of Maryland; special cousins, Vernon Shaw and Sharon Singletary of Bladenboro; and a host of other relatives and friends.
