Obituary For Churrie A. Jones

The funeral services for the late Ms. Churrie A. Jones, who departed this life on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at Pruitt Health Care in Ashburn, Georgia, will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. from the Greater St. Luke Baptist Church in Ashburn, Georgia with the Elder Alexander Williams, officiating. Burial will follow in the Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia.

A Time To Be Born---May 9, 1945 in Rebecca, Georgia, to the proud parentage of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Mary Edge.

A Time To Plant---The vines of her life were rooted in the dark soils of Turner County, where she grew up being reared and nurtured in a Christian home. She was educated in the Turner County School System. She began her Christian journey at an early age by accepting Christ as her personal Savior and joining the St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Rebecca, Georgia.

A Time To Love---Churrie was a prayer warrior who cherished and adored her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

A Time To Die---On Wednesday afternoon November 13, 2019 at the Pruitt Healthcare, Ashburn, Georgia she quietly slipped away from this earthly sphere to await her transition to a final spiritual home, awaiting the Resurrection. God whispered to this soldier on the battlefield to “Lay down your sword and shield and rest. Your work here is done.” She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and sisters, Willie Rean Brown and Melissa Pitts Bateman.

A Time To Cherish--- Her memories will be cherished by her two devoted children; son Mr. Jeffrey Jones (Trellis); daughter Mrs. Denise Williams (Alexander); her grand-children Ms. Adrienne Williams, Mr. Ashley McMath, Ms. Andrea Williams, Ms. Sharkevion Jones, Mr. Malcom Strozier, Mr. Jeffery Jones, Jr., Mr. Jacquez Jones, Mr. Steffon Stewart; 9 great grandchildren; her brother, Mr. Lonnie Edge; her sisters, Mrs. Linda Greene, Mrs. Patricia E. Shipp (James); uncle, Mr. Charlie James Edge; her special friends, Frank and Karen Jones; and a great host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

I just want to say I will truly miss my friend I was her roommate and her sister we laugh and shared alo t of memories Ms.Sherry kept me going.When she left this earth and went to heaven she didn't have no more worries I will never forget her I love you Ms.Sherry your friend Cece at the nursing home.

Churrie use to reside about two doors over from my Auntie Jannie West/Rumph. I last saw her either in late 2003 or early 2004. We were born the same year and have known each other for many years. Her brother Lonnie and I graduated High School together. May she Rest In Peace knowing that she was truly loved by many. Janie Wallace
