Obituary For Mr. Thomas Brown

Mr. Thomas Lee Brown was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Meridian Nursing Home. Thomas was born January 14, 1952 in Ellerbe, NC to the late Rev. William David and Evangelist Lena Mae Bowden Brown. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Maxine Brown Wright and one brother, William Sylvester Brown; one brother-in-law, Alfred Shealey. He was the youngest of five children, three girls and two boys.

In 1962 Thomas moved with his family to High Point where he has resided for the last 57 years. He attended the High Point Public Schools.

He was employed by Copper Transfer Company as a truck driver and forklift driver for many years. He later worked as a landscaping helper.

He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Christine Harper of Greensboro, AL and Tanisha Canady of High Point, NC; one son, Tommy Lee Harper of High Point, NC and a beloved young man, Minister Jermaine Harper of High Point, NC; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Barbara Brown Shealey and Josephine Brown (Everette) Quick all of High Point, NC; one aunt and uncle, Bernice and Frank McBride of Biscoe, NC; and a host of dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 3:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.

Tommy Lee was a great friend he would bring my grandmother and other senior on graves street pecan every year when he was capable. I later heard from a young lady in Daniel Brooks the first of the year how tommy saved her and her son life while they where walking to the park a pit bull came charging them and Tommy ran down the street and beat the dog. He will be truly missed Rest in peace Tommy now you can sing in the heavenly chior.T.poke
