Obituary For Willie Calvin Glover

A celebration of life for Mr. Willie Calvin Glover, 80, will be 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Africa Missionary Baptist Church. Reverend Isaac Richardson will be the eulogist. Interment will be in the Sycamore Church Cemetery. Mr. Glover will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Willie Calvin Glover was born on July 29, 1939 to the union of Wallace Randle Glover and Gussie Mitchell Glover in Talladega, Alabama.

Mr. Glover was a longtime member of Africa Missionary Baptist Church where he served faithfully as a deacon and sang with the male chorus and senior choir. Mr. Glover was a graduate of Talladega County Training School. Willie C. was a familiar face to those in Talladega and surrounding areas as a salesman at Colonial Chevrolet until they closed. He then made the daily journey to Edwards Chevrolet where he continued his sales career. During his professional career, Mr. Glover had also been employed with Shocco Springs and Alabama School for the Deaf and Blind.

In the early hours of Sunday, November 17, 2019, Willie C. traded time for eternity at Coosa Valley Medical Center. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Wallace and Gussie Glover; one brother, Robert Miller; and three sisters, Carolyn Taylor, Lucille Keith and Juanita Storey.

Mr. Glover leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and dedicated wife, Barbara G. Glover; three daughters, Larcella Gooden and Vickey (Eric) Hall of Talladega, Alabama and Cherith (Cordell) Fluker of Pell City, Alabama; five sons, Vincent (Delilah) Glover of Talladega, Alabama, Rickey (Wendy) Robinson of Oxford, Alabama, Willie (Regina) Glover, Jr. of Munford, Alabama, Alvin (Natalie) Glover of Birmingham, Alabama and Querry Glover of Calera, Alabama; eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary (Arthur) Cheeley of Greenville, Georgia and Naomi Ragland of Lithonia, Georgia; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
