Jasper Curtis Carter, 84, of Mountain Valley Rd., Axton, VA, departed this life on Friday, November 15, 2019 at Carillion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, VA. He was born June 9, 1935 in Henry County, VA, the son of the late John Carter and the late Frances Martin Carter. He worked for A.C. Furniture for 8 years, and retired from the Henry County Public Service Authority (PSA) with over twenty years of service.

Jasper leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Phoebia Carter of the home; two daughters, Melissa Harris of Kernersville, NC, and Heather Carter of Axton, VA; two sons, Corey Carter and Phillip Carter both of the home; two brothers, Cecil Carter of Martinsville, VA, and William Carter of Axton, VA; one sister, Olivia Carter of Mt. Vernon, NY; twelve grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 22, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Morning Star Holy Church, 2839 Stoney Mountain Rd., Axton, VA, with Reverend Tyler C. Millner, Eulogist. Visitation will be held at the church from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 520 Mountain Valley Rd., Axton, VA. Burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park, Martinsville, VA.
