Funeral services for Mr. Fredrick Clayton Glenn, 34, of 12A Cabot Court, Greenville, SC will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at Simmons Funeral Home Chapel, 2868 Columbia Road, Orangeburg, SC, with Reverend Julius Sistrunk officiating.

Fredrick Clayton “Clay” Glenn, the son of the late Freddie Clay Glenn and Hattie Isaac, was born October 7, 1985. He gained his wings on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at St. Francis Hospital, Greenville, SC, after an extended illness. He was thirty-four years old.

Clay was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg County and was a 2003 graduate of Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School. He then matriculated to Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College in 2004, where he studied computer technology.

Clay was a manager at Lowes in Greenville, SC and a former manager at Lowes in Orangeburg, SC.

In 2013, Clay welcomed into this world his first and only child, Caylin Clay, with whom he spent the remainder of his life giving his love and utmost attention, that only a loving father would.

Clay was a dedicated father and companion. H worked hard and was a caring and trusting friend and provider. He loved music, Chinese food, and keeping in touch with his siblings and friends. He enjoyed the moments spent with his father and his son, as the three were carbon copies of each other. The times they spent together and the places they traveled were memories built in their hearts and minds and are true testimonies of the love the three shared with one another. Clay’s love for his father carried over to his son once his father passed just seven months ago. Now, the love he had for his son will continue to sustain this young child that he has left I the care of his family, trusting that they will give him the love and encouragement he needs to guide him forward and assist him in being the strong, independent individual his father was.

Clay is preceded in death by this father, Freddie Clay Glenn.

Clay is survived by his mother, Mrs. Hattie (Raymond) Isaac of Orangeburg, SC; one son, Caylin Clay Glenn; two brothers: Brian J. Evans of Lexington, SC and William Thomas Gilmore of St. Matthews, SC; one sister, Crystal J. Evans of Orangeburg, SC; a significant other, Andrea Browne-Matthews and daughter Maye Matthews of Greenville, SC; his grandmother, Ms. Queen Ester Glenn of Lakewood, NJ; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 25, 2019 from noon to 8:00pm.
