Obituary For Willie J. Wells, Sr.

Willie James Wells was born February 6, 1946, to the late Willie B. Wells-Olive in Attala County.

He attended School in Kosciusko Public Schools. As a young man, he joined Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

He & his brother R.L. Olive, Jr. were the first two individuals to join the Job Corps from Attala County in 1965. He received his degree in welding through the Job Corps in Seattle Washington in 1967. Afterwards, he relocated to Chicago, Illinois, where he was employed by Ceco Steel Mill. He worked there for 41 yrs. After he retired from Ceco, he returned to Kosciusko, Mississippi, to reside until his death.

He departed this life on November 18, 2019 at his home in Kosciusko, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie B. Olive and R.L. Olive, Sr. :Siblings, Sam Hazley, R. L. Olive, jr., and Jackqueline Ashford.

He leaves to cherish his memory, two children from his marriage to Mary Williams: Willie Wells, Jr. and Treanesa (Erick) Johnson; three stepchildren from his marriage to Harriet Wells, Henry, Erica and Tameka; a devoted friend, Walter Nichols; four sisters, Ethel Docher, May Bell Olive, Mahala Barron and Lillie Williams all of Kosciusko Mississippi; three brothers, Rev. Levi Olive (Willie Jean), Rev. Harvey Olive (Stella) both of Kosciusko, Mississippi and K.C. Olive of Chicago, Illinois; a sister-in-law: Dorothy Olive; special cousins, Chess and John Cole; five grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

INTERMENT: Mt. Zion Cemetery, Kosciusko, MS
