Mrs. Leila Mae Lewis

Augusta, GA—Master cosmetologist and entrepreneur Ms. Leila Hudson Lewis entered into rest on November 21, 2019 at Augusta University Medical Center. A celebration of her life will be held in the Gilbert-Lamburt Memorial Chapel on Wednesday November 27, 2019 at 11 a.m. Reverend Eugene Waltower of Mount Carmel Baptist Church will be officiating.

Internment will be in Mount Olive Memorial Gardens. The remains will lie in state at the chapel from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. Ms. Lewis served as president of the Ushers' Union of Georgia for twenty-eight years. She was the sole proprietor of Leila's Beauty Salon where she was a stylist for fifty-two years. The family will receive friends and members of the Augusta community at Mount Carmel on Tuesday 5-7 p.m.
