Obituary For Robert Hartgrove

Mr. Robert Delane Hartgrove departed this life on Thursday, November 28, 2019 at his residence, in Shelby, NC. He was born in Cleveland County, NC on April 7, 1952, to the late Harry Lee Hartgrove and Ida Bell Blair Hartgrove.

“String Bean” as he was known by many was formerly employed with Dedmon Concrete and C.V.I. until his health declined. He loved baseball, playing the lottery, laughing and making jokes.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Bill Hargrove, Jr., Harry Lee Hartgrove, Mattie Sue Hartgrove Deal, Ruth Hartgrove, Minnie Bell Hartgrove, Charlie Hartgrove, Willie Hartgrove, Bobby Hartgrove, Kenneth Hartgrove and Geraldine Hartgrove.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Revenia Mobley Hartgrove; step-sons, Willie Beam (Tracy), Steven Beam, Sr., Chuck Beam (Trina) all of Shelby; one step-daughter, Averteena Burris (Marvin) also of Shelby; one brother, Roger Hartgrove (Linda); one sister, Mary Frances Hartgrove Bess; a special great-niece, Carissa Deal all of Shelby and a host of additional nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 3:00 PM at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel. Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM until 3:00 PM.
