Ms. Dorothy Lawson Melton, departed this life on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Ms. Dorothy was born on July 6, 1948 in Eatonton, Georgia, to the late Isaac and Bernice (Crawford) Lawson.

Dorothy was a 1966 graduate and received her formal education at Butler Baker School in Eatonton Georgia, Murphy High School in Atlanta Georgia and continued her education in Job Corps. She was a member of the Atioch Missionary Baptist Church in Boston Massachusetts, she was also an eastern star. Dorothy was employed at Honeywell, in Massachusetts for several years. Pursuing her passion for driving, Dorothy started a career as a bus driver and booth attendant at the (MBTA) Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority until her retirement.

Dorothy leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Veronica Darlene Lawson of Eatonton Georgia and a host of siblings, nieces, nephews and loved ones.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 P.M. Saturday, December 14, 2019 at New life Outreach Christian Center, 206 Agnes, Eatonton, Georgia, Pastor James Kilgore, Sr., Eulogist.
