Obituary For Walter Henry Lindsey

Mr. Walter Henry Lindsey was born on August 13, 1960, to the late Vera Mae Smith Lindsey and the late Henry Ison Lindsey, at the Spalding County Hospital, in Griffin, Georgia. Walter attended school within the Lamar County School System and graduated from the Lamar County Comprehensive High School in 1978. At an early age, Walter joined the Springhill Baptist Church and performed as a junior usher. Walter began his employment career at the early age of sixteen, with the William Carter Company. In 1983, Walter completed a tractor trailer driving course with Alliance Corporation and became employed with Builders Transport of Memphis Tennessee. During his thirty six year tenure as a tractor trailer driver, Walter acquired his hazardous material endorsement and became owner-operator of Lindsey Transportation. Walter’s employment career included Superman Express, Schnitzer Steel, Penn Tanks Lines, Fort Oil Company, and Kenan Transportation. Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Vera Lindsey; sister, Marie Stinson; and brother, Willie Floyd Clemons Smith. Walter leaves to cherish his memory; sister, Mary Lindsey Jordan; brother-in-law, Marvin Stinson; a devoted niece, Vernecia Loveya Jordan (Babs) niece, Frances Denise Chapman, nephews, Paul Stinson and Tony Clemons; great-nephew, Elijah Lindsey Jordan (Lij); great nieces, Candice Chapman and Toya Grier; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives , and friends. Funeral Service were held Friday, November 29, 2019 12:00 Noon Greater Springhill Missionary Baptist Church Interment Church Cemetery
