Obituary For Annie Griffin

Annie E. Ward was born on January 1, 1942 in Lawndale N.C, to the late Frank Adam Ward and Helen Wray Ward. She departed this life December 5, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Lucille Williamson, Willie Frank, Cleo Hamright, Ruth M. Ward, and Eddie Ward.

She was employed at the Kings Mountain Hospital as a diet clerk until ailing health. The later years of her life she worked as a foster care grandmother in the Cleveland County School System. She joined the Lawndale First Baptist, in Lawndale N.C at an early age. After moving to Kings Mountain, she joined Mount Zion Baptist Church. She was a member of the mass choir and taught the primary Sunday school class for several years. She was the secretary of Sunday school, and worked on the newsletter and bulletin board. She taught crafts to the Golden Hearts for several years. She was chairperson of the Decoration Committee. She was a member of the senior ladies class and also worked in the nursery.

She is survived by her daughters, J. Latricia Gardin (Osco) Monroe, NC, Jacinta L. Mason (James), Grosse Pointe Woods, MI, Jwalea L. Smith, Charlotte NC. Siblings, Rosa Ward Padgett, Shelby, NC, James Ward (Jackie), Cary NC, John Ward (Daisy), Shelby, NC, Shirley Fullerton (James), Shelby, NC, George T. Ward, Lawndale, NC, Jacquelyn Guest (Benjamin), Charlotte, NC. Eight Grandchildren; Shameia Crawford (Mike), Osco Gardin III (Stacey), Jarred Gardin, JamekaRuta (Frank), James Curtis Mason Jr., Jakeia Mason, Madeson Smith, Mikailah Smith. Four Great Grandchildren, Jordan Ruta, Skylar Crawford, Siana Crawford, and MahliaRuta.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 11:30 AM at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, NC. Burial will take place at Mountain Rest Cemetery in Kings Mountain. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 11:30 AM at the church.

I am so sorry for your loss Miss Annie was a wonderful person I'm in the first time I met her is when she worked at Kings Mountain Hospital with my grandmother and she was just the sweetest person you would ever want to meet but I know now she's in heaven looking down with a beautiful smile on her face I will keep you all in prayer and in my heart may God bless you all
