Mr. Bernard Wright
Bernard Wright was born on September 24, 1957 in Atlanta, Georgia (Fulton County) to the late Mrs. Dorothy K. Wright and Mr. Leroy Mitchell. He was the fifth born of six children. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Willie Wright, Jr., and his precious daughter, Monique Wright. “Crummy” as he was affectionately known, was educated in the Decatur School System graduating from Decatur High School. In 1979, he decided to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Navy where he served valiantly, earning an Honorable Discharge. To know “Crummy” was to love him, for he had a huge heart and was a mentor to many. Love of family and friends was evident, one phone call, and he would be there to help in any way that he could. His favorite words were BAAAABY and OKKKKKK. Additionally, Bernard had a love for music, college and WNBA basketball and working on many projects around the house. Bernard was married to Ms. Glenda D. Colzie. He loved her and they loves spending special time with each other watching movies, for they shared a special bond. He never shied away from his “honey do list” and was always willing to do more for her and their family. At an early age, Bernard accepted Jesus Christ as His Lord and personal Savior. He loved God and served Him faithfully. He believed in the words of the old hymnal “that if I can help somebody as I travel along, if I can help somebody, with a word or song, if I can help somebody, from doing wrong, no my living shall not be in vain .” Bernard was employed by Insperity, Inc., for several years, retiring because of health concerns. On June 10, 2020, with his wife by his side Bernard peacefully ended his journey on earth and transitioned to the heavenly tabernacle to be with His Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ. He leaves to cherish precious memories, a loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Glenda D. Colzie Wright; three very special grandchildren, Zephaniah Wright, Zoey Wright, Zachary Wright; three sisters, Dorothy A. Jackson (Roger) of Stone Mountain, GA, Betty L. Creamer (Charlie) of Decatur, GA, Delores Wright of Decatur Georgia; a brother, Roy A. Wright (Rena) of Stone Mountain, GA; two bonus children Bernard Levinson and Lernard Colzie; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and other relatives and faithfully devoted friends.
