Obituary

Ruby Dean Beamon was born July 14, 1950 to the parents of Joe Cephus Beamon and Doretha Lillie Beamon in Fitzgerald, Georgia. Both parents preceded her in death. Ruby was the second eldest of eight children of this union. Ruby was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.

Ruby was educated in the Brooks County Public School system. Ruby was joined in Holy Matrimony to Aaron Edwards, Sr., with four children blessing this union. Aaron Jr., Wanda, Anthony and Kelvin. Wanda and Kelvin preceded their mother in death as infants.

Ruby would later move to Miami, Florida in the late 70’s where she worked in several positions for The State of Florida, in both Dade and Broward Counties. After returning to Georgia, Ruby Furthered her education at Thomas County Community College where she received certification to become an Addiction Counselor, working at Georgia Pines Comm until her demise.

Ruby had strong faith in God and loved going to worship at the House of God Church in Quitman, where she was a member and very active in several auxiliaries. She had a strong bond and love for her family and friends.

Ruby was the most amazing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved them all unconditionally until the very end.

Ruby leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Aaron (Camye) of Tallahassee, FL and Anthony (Helen) of Defuniak Springs, FL; stepson Joseph Foster, Jr., Fort Lauderdale, FL; stepdaughter Letonya Foster, Jacksonville, FL; fifteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; two sisters Dorothy Brown and Deloris Bryant, Quitman, GA, Mary Beamon and Rosemary Beamon of Daytona Beach, FL; two brothers Frank (Murtice), Daytona, FL and Eddie of Quitman, Georgia; two sisters-in-law Margaret Beamon and Nora Styles of Quitman, GA and an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom she loved unconditionally until her death.

Visitation will be Friday, June 17, 2022 at the Stevens-McGhee chapel from 4PM-7PM. A celebration of life will be Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 11AM at Calvary Christian Center with Rev.
