Mrs. Clara Tarlton Nixon age 76 of Denver, North Carolina transitioned on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at her residence.

She was born in Chesterfield County, South Carolina on June 10, 1945 to the late Spofford Tarlton and Mildred Louise McLain Tarlton. She was married to the late Herman Alexander Nixon and mother of the late Rev. Brian Lamar Nixon.

Clara graduated from Gary High School and attended Johnson C. Smith University. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church and served faithfully as an Usher, Choir Member, Communion Steward and member of the United Methodist Women.

Funeral Service is Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at St. James United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

There will be a public walk through on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
