Funeral services for Mr. Edwin Maisonet, 81, of Orangeburg, SC, will be held 2:30pm, Friday, May 9, 2025, at New Light United Methodist Church, 3100 Neeses Highway, Orangeburg, with interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Memorial Park.

Mr. Maisonet passed away, Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Lexington Medical Center.

Edwin “Ed” David Claudio Maisonet was born in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and passed away on April 30, 2025, after a brief illness.

Ed began his education in the public schools of Puerto Rico, where he developed a strong work ethic and a passion for craftsmanship that would shape his life’s work. For more than 50 years, he worked as a commercial and residential contractor, enhancing homes and businesses across South Carolina. A master tradesman with a keen eye for detail and beauty, Ed took great pride in his work—transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary.

He was a devoted member of New Light United Methodist Church, where he served faithfully as an usher. Whether maintaining the church building or offering support to others, Ed’s steady presence was a source of comfort and reliability to many.

Known for his dry wit and warm humor, Ed had a gift for making people laugh. He was an avid bowler and a proud member of a local league, where he built lifelong friendships. An enthusiastic sports fan, he loved rooting for his favorite college teams.

Music brought Ed peace and joy, often helping him unwind after a long day's work. Yet, his greatest happiness came from time spent with family and friends. A gifted storyteller, Ed loved sharing memories and life lessons, always with a sparkle in his eye.

Ed leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and craftsmanship. He will be deeply missed and remembered by his children, stepchildren, grandchildren, extended family, and the many friends whose lives he touched.

Public viewing will be held Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 12-6pm.
