Odessa Cox, 67, of Phenix City, AL passed on Friday, August 8, 2025 in Columbus, GA.

Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. EST, Friday, August 15, 2025 at St. Luke AME Church, 2388 CR 106, Midway, AL with Rev. Cynthia Johnson, Pastor, officiating. Burial to follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery. A public visitation will not occur.

Ms. Odessa Cox was born on April 8, 1958, at John A. Andrew Hospital in Tuskegee, Alabama, to the late Carlton and Ida Mae Cox.

Odessa was a proud 1976 graduate of Bullock County High School. Soon after, she began her honorable service to her country in the United States Army, where she dedicated numerous years as an Administrative Specialist and Recruiter. Throughout her military career, Ms. Cox displayed unwavering commitment, professionalism, and a spirit of service that inspired those around her.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents and her beloved son,Larry. Ms. Cox will be remembered for her strength, determination,and compassionate heart. She leaves behind cherished memories for family and friends who will forever honor her legacy of dedication,resilience, and love. Her life was a testament to service - both to her nation and to those she cared for most.

She leaves to cherish her memories with her six sisters, Annie Will Turpin of Hurtsboro, AL, Mildred Lee Brown of Phenix City, AL, Annie Ruth Reeves, Phenix City, AL, Yvonne Cox, Midway, AL,Irene (Charles) Penn of Union Springs, AL, Eunice (Danny) Ricks of Phenix City, AL; one brother, O. C. Cox, Hartford, CT, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, very special friends and caregivers.
