Apostle Dr. Geraldine Barnes Sheard, age 87, also known as the “Clean Up Woman”, of the Hugh Creek Community of Blountstown, Florida made her heavenly transition on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 surrounded by family.

Apostle Sheard was the founder, establishmentarian, and pastor of the Prayer Chainers Mission of God. She retired as a Librarian with the Calhoun County School District. Apostle Sheard was highly involved in her community and was a cornerstone in the church. She believed in holiness!

Apostle Sheard was the oldest of the children born to her beloved parents, the late Willie and Neufaula Yon Barnes. She was proceeded in death by her parents, her grandparents, her brother, Cletis Yon, her sisters, Bobbie J. Williams and Earlene Barnes McGlockton, husband, Charles E. Sheard, and her only child, Theodore “Jerry” McCray. She was the matriarch of her family, a well-respected pastor, an amazing mentor, a fierce community activist, a dedicated prayer warrior, and cherished Saint. To know her was to love her.

There will be a public viewing and moments of love on Friday, November 7, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Vann Funeral Home. Please note that this is the only day of viewing.

The Official Homegoing Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 11:00 AM from the Old Blountstown High School Auditorium located at 17586 Main Street North in Blountstown, Florida 32424. At the request of Apostle Sheard, everyone is asked to wear white on the day of the service.

Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery, 326 13th Street, Blountstown, Florida immediately following the service.

Apostle Sheard’s legacy will be left to be celebrated by her amazing family, church, and all those who knew and loved her.
