Mr. Walter Lee “Cameo” Tanner was born April 20, 1980 in Wadesboro, NC to the late Mr. Walter Lee Tanner Sr. and Barbara Ann Little-Colson. In the late evening hour of January 3, 2026 at Atrium Health Wadesboro, NC, Walter answered the Masters call and took his eternal rest.

Walter lovingly known as “Cameo” gave his life to Christ in recent years. He attended the public schools of Anson County.

Growing up, Cameo was always into fashion. He loved sneakers and jewelry. He also had a love for music and thought he could sing. He loved to laugh, have a good time and spend time with family and friends.

Cameo was preceded in death by his father, Walter Lee Tanner Sr.; mother, Barbara Ann Little-Colson; sister, Alisha Michelle Little; step-brother, Kedrico Tanner; three aunts, Mary Louise Colson, Angela Mechell Colson and Mary Maske; and four uncles, James Arthur Colson, Lee Otis Lindsey, Edward Tanner and Larry Tanner.

Cameo is survived by his loving grandmother, Mrs. Bertha Lee Colson of Wadesboro, NC; two sisters, Taisha Little and Jamieka Chisholm both of Soperton, Georgia; three brothers, Carnel Charles Caple Jr. of Wadesboro, NC, Tyrone Little and Maurice Little both of High Point, NC; one step-brother, Kedric Tanner; step mother, JoAnne Tanner; uncles, Vernon Lindsey of Winston-Salem, NC, Edward Colson of Wadesboro, NC, James Alexander Colson of Atlanta, Georgia, Jessie Tanner, Louis Tanner, Roger Tanner and Eddie Tanner; aunts, Brenda Diggs, Juretha Tanner and Shelby Sturdivant.

A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Special cousins who he was raised with, Tameika Hall, Shonda Colson, Kendrick Colson, Jamal Hailey, Matt Colson, Sada Thomas and Evelyn Leak McLaughlin.

The Services to Honor Cameo's Life will be on Saturday, January 10, 2026, 1:00pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina.
