Mr. Jessie Lindsey, Jr. entered eternal rest in January 2026. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, steadfast faith, and giving heart. A man of humility, he lived a life rooted in love, perseverance, and trust in God.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosie L. Lindsey; his mother and father, Rossie C. Lindsey and Jessie Lindsey; his children, Jessie L. Lindsey, John F. Lindsey, and Michael L. Lindsey; and his siblings, Joe F. Lindsey and Johnny L. Lindsey.
He is survived by his children: James W. Lindsey, Ph.D., of Apex, North Carolina and Frank Tillman, of Wadesboro, North Carolina.
He is also survived by: Several grandchildren, whom he loved and his brother, William “Tony” Lindsey, of Monroe, North Carolina.
Mr. Lindsey found comfort in the poem “Footprints in the Sand,” a reflection of his faith and trust in God’s presence through every season of life. Its message, that we are never truly alone, even in our hardest moments, was one he held close and lived by. He believed deeply that during life’s most difficult paths; it was God who carried him.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 3:30 PM at Smith’s Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Remarks will be offered in an open-floor format for those who wish to share memories or reflections.
Mr. Lindsey’s legacy lives on through the lives he touched, the faith he modeled, and the love he gave so freely.
The Interment will be on Thursday, February 5, 2026, 12:00pm, Meltonville Baptist Church Cemetery, Peachland, North Carolina.
