On Saturday, December 13, 2025, God graciously called one of His angels, Stevie Allen Tillman, home. Stevie was born on February 16, 1962, to the late Lee Harrison and Armender Sinclair Tillman.
Stevie attended the public schools of Anson County and was a 1980 graduate of Bowman Senior High School. He furthered his education at Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC. Later, he joined the United States Army, where he became a Multichannel Communications Equipment Operator. This role required him to undergo 10 weeks of rigorous training, which he completed successfully. Stevie was also an expert marksman and received a medal for his shooting skills. Stevie served 6 years of dedicated service to the military.
After his time in the military, Stevie returned to Charlotte, NC, and began working in the civilian sector as a banker. This career led to various other opportunities, and he continued to work throughout his life.
Stevie accepted Christ as his Lord at a young age and was a strong believer in his faith. He loved reading, studying and discussing the Bible. Stevie attended Reeder Memorial Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC where he served as a Trustee, Choir Member and member of the Audio/Video Team.
Stevie met and later married the love of his life, Brenita Bennett. Together, they have a total of 5 children and 11 grandchildren.
Stevie had a caring spirit, loved to laugh and have a good time. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and especially his grandchildren. He was an avid fan of the Carolina Panthers, Duke Blue Devils, and Charlotte Hornets, often spending hours watching sports. He enjoyed life and strived to live it to the fullest.
Stevie was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Armender Tillman; sister, Deborah J. Tillman; brother, Lee J. Tillman; nephews, Dimetrick Tillman and Victor Tillman; niece, Kennedi Tillman; father-in-law, Elijah Gaddy; and brother-in-law, Elijah Bennett.
Stevie leaves to cherish his memories to his wife, Brenita of the home; his children, Lakia Hollis (Jeremy) of Crestview, Florida, Lei-San Tillman of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Stephaine Tillman of Charlotte, NC, Renesha Davis (Timothy) of Locust, NC and Jabreela Lisenby (Marcus) of Albemarle, NC. 11 Grandchildren. His siblings, Shirley Tillman of Monroe, NC, Kenneth Tillman (Kathrene) of Oklahoma, Larry Tillman (Sylvette) of Virginia, Gregory Tillman of Wadesboro, NC, Wayne Tillman (Toni) of Florida, Michael Tillman (Stephanie) of Virginia and Angela Tillman of Virginia. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The Homegoing Services will be on Saturday, December 27, 2025, 11:00am, Reeder Memorial Baptist Church, 3725 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, North Carolina. Interment will be in the family plot of the Gatewood Station AME Zion Church Cemetery, Morven, North Carolina.
The public viewing will be on Friday, December 26, 2025 from 1:00-4:00pm at Smith's Funeral Home.
