OBITUARY:

Willie Jenkins Hampton was born on June 17, 1957, in Cruger, MS., to the late Arthur Anderson and Bernice Jenkins Simpson. She peacefully departed this life on March 7, 2026, at her home. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin Whitehead and Willie James Jenkins, and a special niece Savannah Jenkins.

Willie attended Tchula Attendance Center in Tchula, MS., and later continued her education by earning her G.E.D. She was employed at Durant Electric Training Center for many years and was also a dedicated worker at Viking Range, where she remained until her retirement.

Willie leaves to cherish her loving memories: her sisters, Josephine Nixon, Claudia Harris, Essie Ford, Bernice Johnson, Earnestine (Alvin)Greer and Hattie Jenkins, all of Tchula, MS.; Diana Melton, Denise Melton, Fay Melton and Cassandra Melton, all of Chicago, IL.; her brothers, Eddie(Gloria) Jenkins and Joseph(Gloria)Jenkins of Tchula, MS; Willie Frank Anderson, Andrea Melton and Clarence Anderson, all of Chicago, IL.

She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, along with a special neighbor, Mrs. Mary Jefferson and her devoted church family.
