Reese Lias, Jr., 56, of Phenix City, AL, passed Thursday, March 19, 2026 in Phenix City, AL.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST on Friday, March 27, 2026 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 474 Antioch Road, Pittsview, AL. with Rev. Robert Toney, Pastor, Elder Raymond Parker, Eulogist, Rev. Davie Brown, officiating. Burial at Zion Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Cole Ridge, AL. Public visitation will be held from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, March 26, 2026.

Reese Lias, Jr. was born May 30, 1969, in Tuskegee, Alabama, to the late Reese Lias, Sr. and Christine Chatman Lias. On March 18, 2026, at the age of 56, Reese was peacefully called home to be with the Lord while resting in his sleep.

Reese confessed Christ at an early age, joined Zion Springs Baptist Church, and later joined Genesis Church of God in Christ, where he served as a faithful member.

Reese attended Pittsview Jr. High School and graduated from Chavala High School (Class of 1989). Throughout his life, he worked at Swift Spinning Mill, TNS Mill, a trucking company, as a forklift driver at MEAD, and also at a construction company. He later moved to Florida, then moved back to Alabama. Reese enjoyed walking, fishing, dancing, and spending time with family and friends in Alabama and Florida. He was also a master on the BBQ grill.

He was preceded in death by his father, Reese Lias, Sr., and son, Devon Montrell.

Reese Lias, Jr. leaves to cherish his loving memory a beautiful daughter, Moneke Woods, and loving mother, Christine Chatman Lias; six grandchildren: Kaleah Lawrence, Kristina Lawrence, Kameria Woods, Kaloni Hayward, Kaleel Hayward, Kyree Woods; five sisters: Debra Lias Leonard, Bernice Lias of Pittsview, Alabama, Teresa Lias (Ronald Carter) of Fort Mitchell, Alabama, Latonya Lias (Ronald Habersham) of Columbus, Georgia, Petina Willis of Phenix City, Alabama; one bonus sister: Brenda Lias Robinson of Fort Mitchell, Alabama; 41 nieces and nephews; a host of great nieces and nephews; three aunts: Earlier B. Brundige of Columbus, Georgia, Annie Lias of Pittsview, Alabama, Rosie Lias Johnson of Seale, Alabama; four uncles: McDuffle Lias, Sr. (Clauda) of Midway, Alabama, Kirven Chatman (Bernice) of Pittsview, Alabama, Eddie Chatman of North Carolina, Arthur Thomas of Augusta, Georgia; special friends: Howard Dillard (Georgia Ann), Maurice Brooks, Kimberly Mosley, Mary Washington, and Tiffany McClain; and a host of special first cousins who were like siblings to him.
