Allen Henry, 60, of Columbus, GA passed on Saturday, March 28, 2026 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. EST on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor of Funeral Home with Rev. Ernest Snead IV, officiating. Burial at Mt. Cannon Baptist Church Cemetery, Pittsview, AL. Public viewing is 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST on Monday, April 6, 2026 at Taylor Funeral Home.
Allen James Henry, affectionately known as “Fatt” was born February 19, 1966, to the late Mary Alice Abron (Lockhart) and Jerry Miller in Cottonton, AL. He attended Oliver Elementary School followed by Chavala High School in Seale, AL. As a teen he resided in Ft Mitchell, AL later settling in Phenix City, AL.
Allen loved his family and friends dearly and spent a lot of time entertaining them at family events, dancing and cracking jokes. He loved to sit on his front porch and socialize with his neighbors. Allen had a strong work ethic and was a faithful custodian for the Ft. Benning School System for 38 years, lastly serving at Dexter Elementary.
He is survived by his stepfather, John Abron, Jr.; his daughter, LeQuesia Holmes-French; granddaughter, ShaNira Evans; four siblings, Mary Henry, Delinda (Anthony) Owens, Mack (Tammy) Henry, and Shelia (Tommy) Threat; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. His lively spirit and contagious laugh will truly be missed by many.
