Born on November 27, 1969, in Wake County, NC, Twila was the beloved daughter of Robert “Bud” Council, Jr., and Irene Council. From an early age, she carried a spirit of determination, compassion,
and purpose that would guide her throughout her life.

Twila began her educational journey at Apex and Cary Elementary Schools. She later continued her studies at Wake Technical Community College where she earned an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education. A lifelong educator, Twila was deeply
committed to shaping young minds and nurturing generations of students with patience, wisdom, and care. Her impact reached far beyond the classroom—she was a mentor, a mother figure, and a source of encouragement to many.

A woman of faith, Twila maintained a deep and personal relationship with God throughout her life. She was baptized at Faith Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a greeter and worked in the
hospitality ministry and usher board. She later returned to her home church, Holland Chapel AME Zion Church, and she was ordained as a Missionary, an honor that spoke to a life defined by service and
devoted to the calling God placed upon her. Twila had a warm spirit that drew people to her. She valued connection, community, and faith and made others feel seen and deeply cared for.

Twila was united in marriage to the love of her life, William Barry Adams. Their union was rooted in love, partnership, and unwavering devotion. She remained deeply in love with him throughout her life, even after his transition in 2017—a testament to a love that endures beyond this life.

Twila was a proud mother and grandmother whose love created a strong foundation that will continue to carry her family forward. She led with wisdom, grace, and unwavering devotion, instilling values that will live on through her children and grandchildren. Twila leaves to cherish her memory: her loving children, Ranesha Johnson (Dexter Johnson), Cameron Adams, and Kayla Adams; and her grandchildren, Tyler Adams, Saiya Johnson, Kayne Crowson, Hazel Adams, Karim Davis, Mila Johnson, Dakota Johnson, Louis Adams, and Laliah-Lynn Adams; siblings, Cheryl Fuller, Gregory Council, Darlene Norris (Pastor Clee Norris), and Carl Council; sisters-in-law: Bobbie Council and Jacqueline Plush; along with her
