Sister Antionette Brown Kendrick (called “Nita” by family and “Toni" by others) went to be home with the Lord on Saturday, May 9, 2026, in Apopka, Florida. She was born August 15, 1955, in Sylvester, Georgia, to the late Anthony and Joretha Brown. She was also the loving sister of the late Pamela Brown. Nita later moved to Tampa, Florida, with her family. She attended Middleton High School and, due to school integration, later completed her education at Brandon High School. She continued her studies and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of South Florida. On May 24, 1986, she was married to Ricardo Everett Kendrick. Together they shared nearly 40 years of marriage built on faith, love, family, and service. To this union was born their only son, Ricardo Everett Kendrick II, who is married to Marsha Kendrick. She was also a loving grandmother to Aiden Isaiah Kendrick. Toni built a successful career in customer service and telecommunications, retiring in 2010 as an IT Project Manager. Since 1986, Toni was a faithful and dedicated member of Peace Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a Deaconess, President of the Deaconess and WOW Ministries, member of the Finance Ministry, Sunday School Teacher, Church Clerk and Administrator. Her faith in Christ was reflected through her servant spirit and commitment to others. She loved her church deeply and faithfully served in many capacities over the years. If she saw a need, she tried to meet it. No job was too small for her to do. She worked tirelessly on church programs, ministry projects, and helping others, often behind the scenes. She faithfully served in Children’s Sunday School, Youth Church and Vacation Bible School. She loved the children dearly and lovingly referred to many of them as “her babies.” She also cared deeply for the seniors, sick, and shut-ins, faithfully checking on them and visiting them whenever she could. Everything Toni did was done with love, excellence, generosity, and a desire to serve God and people well. She also loved photography and creating photo books and keepsakes that preserved precious family and church memories. She leaves to cherish her loving memory: her devoted husband, Ricardo Everett Kendrick; son, Ricardo Everett Kendrick II (Marsha); grandsons, Aiden Isaiah Kendrick and Mark Alers; stepdaughter, Yereda “Trenda” Dabanka; brothers, Roy Brown, Johnny Brown (Nancy), Gary Brown, and Joey Brown; sister, Sebrina Brown Ibarra; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, and friends. Antionette’s life was marked by faith, love, prayer, sacrifice, and service to others. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of trusting God, serving faithfully, and giving of herself tirelessly will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.

Visitation for Antionette Brown Kendrick is Friday May 22, 2026 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Peace Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, 2607, East 24th Avenue, Tampa. Service is Saturday May 23, 2026 one hour before noon location St. John’s Cathedral, 3401 Bishop Eddie Newkirk Way, Tampa, Fl.
