Callie Johnson, 93, of Seale, AL, passed on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 in Woodbridge, VA.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. EST on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at New Hope Baptist Church, Holy Trinity, AL with Rev. Timothy Reynolds, officiating. Burial to follow at St. James Missionary Baptist Church, Cottonton, AL. Public viewing will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.

Born on September 16, 1932, at her childhood home in Cottonton, Alabama, Callie was the fifth of eleven children born to the late Gene and Mamie Sims. From an early age, her life reflected resilience, determination, and deep-rooted faith.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Nebraska Butts; second husband, Eddie Mack Johnson; her parents, Gene and Mamie Sims; her sons, Howell Butts, Ralph Owens, and Clemmon Williams; her daughters, Elaine Butts Williams and Virginia Owens; four brothers, Griffin, Jimmy, Frank, and Henry Sims; and three sisters, Betty Cobb, Mammie Kate Denson, and Lois Sims.

She leaves to cherish her precious memory two children, Washington (Linda) Butts of Headland, AL and Wyonia (Benard) Hall of Woodbridge, VA; seven bonus children, Pairris Butts of Dacula, GA, Annie (Andrew) Johnson of Cincinnati, OH, McVivian Feagins of Phenix City, AL, Estella (Robert) Screws of Eufaula, AL, Eddie Lou Williams of Ellenwood, GA, Jeff Williams of Fort Mitchell, AL, and Pamela Owens of Cottonton, AL; three sisters, Rosie Sims of Chicago, IL, Helen Sims, and Lula Forbes both of Columbus, GA; a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends whose lives were forever touched by her love, wisdom, strength, and unwavering faith.
