Funeral service at 2:00 p.m. EST, Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Canaan AME Church, Seale, AL with Rev. Herbert Newsome, pastor and Rev. Mattie Edwards, officiating. Interment in Canaan AME Church (Old Cemetery). Public viewing 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Saturday, May 23, 2026 at Taylor Funeral Home.

Mr. Jerome Mitchell gained his wings on May 19, 2026 at his residence. Jerome was born to the late Jammie Nell and Joe Lewis Mitchell on June 12, 1972 in Russell County, AL.

Jerome was a loving father, brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed watching sports. One of his favorite teams was the Dallas Cowboys. Jerome was loved by many and he loved many.

Jerome was preceded in death by his mother Jammie Nell Mitchell, his father Joe Lewis Mitchell; four brothers Joseph, Charmaine, Macie, and Jerry Mitchell, and one sister Deloris Moffett.
