Charlie Henry Wall, was born to the late Charlie Simon Wall and Effie Bell Spencer Wall on November 25, 1943 in Lilesville, NC and departed this life on May 25, 2026, at the age of 82. Sunny or Charles, as he was fondly known to family and friends, grew up and was educated in Anson County schools. An exemplary student, Charles graduated from Henry Grove High School in 1961 and went on to receive a Diploma in Computer Programming and Junior Accounting from Baltimore Business School.

Charles proudly served his country by joining the United States Army in 1965. He completed a tour-of-duty in Vietnam, rising to the rank of Specialist 4 and earning numerous medals and commendations. After leaving the military Charles worked in a variety of fields, finally settling into a position as a quality control inspector for AT&T. A post that he held with excellence and integrity for 30+ years.

Faith in God was a quiet but steady part of Charles’ life. He maintained a personal devotion to the Lord that was steady, humble, and sincere. Whenever called upon he was willing to serve in any capacity without seeking attention or praise, that was just his way.

During his early days in Baltimore, Charles met and married Mary Elizabeth Wallace, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death are his parents, brothers, LeeVander Spencer and Robert Spencer; sisters, Celia Mae Tillman, Kathleen Willoughby, and Effie Wright.

He is survived by his daughter, Vanessa Cobb; his son, Victor Wall (Eugina); grandsons, Kyle Cobb (Jedda), and Micah Wall; granddaughter Addyson; adopted great-grandson, Asaiah; brother Marvin Wall (Francine); sisters Thomasina Montgomery (Lee), Rosa Jane Wall, and Sherry Wall; sister-in-law, Annette Moore (Harvey); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The Homegoing Services will be on Sunday, May 31, 2026, 2:00pm, in the Chapel of Smith's Funeral Home, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will follow in the Wall Family Plot, Forestville A.M.E. Zion Church Cemetery, Lilesville, North Carolina.

The Wall Family will greet family and friends on Sunday, May 31, 2026 from 1:30-2:00pm and at all other times at the residence of his sister, Mrs. Thomasina Wall Montgomery, 47 Misty Road, Polkton, North Carolina 28135.
