OFFICIAL NOTICE OF EARTHLY TRANSITION

It is with profound sorrow, yet humble submission to the will of Almighty God, we announce the earthly transition of Ms. Coleen Louise Swann of Valdosta.

Ms. Swann was born on April 20, 1966, and departed this life unexpectedly at her home on May 31, 2026, at the age of 60 years.

Coleen was born on April 20, 1966, to Charles Langley and Diana Gene Thigpen Cole in Alton, IL. She was an avid reader, especially of mystery novels. She loved to work outdoors mowing yards. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved anything to do with Native Americans. She would always be fashionably late to any type of event. She also enjoyed talking on the phone with her family. Most of all, she loved her husband. She is preceded in death by her son, John Lindon Swann and daughter, Nola Swann.

Survivors include her husband of 19 years, David Swann, Sr. of Valdosta, GA; children, David Swann, Jr of Valdosta, GA, Jennifer LeBlanc of Marrero, LA, Elizabeth Taylor of Tyler, TX, Korey Booth of Lake Park, GA, Diana Vereakis (Thomas) of Nashville, GA, Heather Motos (Sam) of DeFuniak Springs, FL, Justin Wyke (Hannah) of Ty Ty, GA, Kayla Connell (Nick) of Nashville, GA and Susan Swann of Donaldson, GA; 36 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

While her physical presence will be greatly missed, her legacy of faith, love, resilience, and family unity will continue to inspire generations to come.

Public Viewing: Sunday, June 7, 2026, from 4PM - 6PM from the Masonic Temple, 1650 River Street, Valdosta, GA.

Graveside Committal Services will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
