Ms. Melissa Jones was born on August 26, 1966 in Valdosta, Georgia to the late Willie Henry Jones and Gladys Hall Jones.

She was called home to take her rest on June 1, 2026 at Baptist Medical Center, Jacksonville, Florida.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Ms. Melissa was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was devoted in her faith with Christ and had a warmth and friendliness that made everyone smile. She had a passion to spend time with her kids, grandchildren, and family. She also enjoyed watching movies in her free time. She would motivate, always encourage, and uplift others to keep going.

Her presence will be sorely missed by all who knew her, especially her family. Melissa leaves to cherish her memories her son, Samual (Shavonia) Carter-Jones; her daughter, Sadaryl (Travis) Graham and son, Quenton (Sha-Neece) Carter; sisters, Carol Moye and Viva Jones; brother Willie Jones; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; four nieces; five great nieces; three great nephews; one great-great niece; and a host of relatives and friends.

A celebration of life for Sister Melissa Jones will be held on Saturday, June 13 at 11:00 A. M. at Scott and Roberts Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Norman Edwards officiating.
