CARL CURTIS NANCE was born November 10, 1948 son to the late Benjamin Roscoe Nance, Sr. and Annie Lee Graham-Nance. Carl departed this life to his eternal home on April 12, 2026.
CARL is preceded in death by his parents; 2 Sisters: Geneva Nance-Luckey and Wilma Nance-Caldwell; and His Brother: Benjamin Roscoe Nance, Jr.
CARL graduated from New Bold High School Class of 1967. He entered the US Army in 1968, served in the Vietnam War. Carl was wounded in combat and received the Purple Heart. After being honorably discharged he worked for United Stationers Supply Warehouse retiring after 40 years.
In his leisure time, CARL enjoyed gardening, walking along his neighborhood streets for exercise, picking up litter, chatting with his family and friends, and always giving to others especially those big double yoked eggs.
CARL leaves to cherish his memories: One son: Darrell Nance of Charlotte, NC, One grandson: Devontae Nance (Myshaela) of Charlotte, NC; Three granddaughters: Alanna Nance; Lola Porter, and Regina Porter; One great-grandson: Jamir Nance; Two sisters: Martha Sanders of Stanley, NC and Vernell McLean of Belmont, NC. A host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. His Camp Green Neighborhood, Freedom Drive Area, Parkway Street Area, and West Blvd Area.
Memorial service on Saturday; April 25, 2026 at Gold Hill Baptist Church, Stanley at 12 noon with visitation beginning at 11:30
