James Edward Marshall was born June 9, 1946, and departed this life on April 18, 2026 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.

James was raised and educated in Anson County. Upon graduating high school, he served in the US Army. After his military service, for several years he lived in New York and loved to talk about his time spent there. He later returned to Wadesboro where he worked and retired from Hornwood Manufacturing.

James is predeceased by his parents, Lester and Georgianna Marshall, brother Freddie Marshall, sisters, Rosa Harrison and Edna Grace Marshall.

He is survived by his life partner, Carolyn Colson, brother, Leroy Marshall (Linda), sisters, Helena Hailey and Mamie Lee, and several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

The Homegoing Services will be on Thursday, April 23, 2026, 1:00pm, Smith's Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Caroilina. Interment will be at Westview Memorial Park, Polkton, North Carolina.
