Percy was born on Wednesday, November 12, 1952, to Perry and Ethel Jenkins, in a loving family that would come to shape his generous heart and steadfast spirit.

Raised with deep family values, Percy spent his formative years in Alabama, graduating in 1970 from R. R. Moton High School, where he forged friendships that would last throughout his life. He furthered his education in Engineering and became a welder.

Percy was known to many as an adventurer and a man of varied passions. His love for racing was matched only by his fascination with antique cars and the thrill of hunting and fishing. He was also an avid collector of guns, cherished fancy jewelry, shoes, and had a keen sense of style. His adventurous spirit extended to traveling far and wide, embracing the new and unknown with open arms.

Percy's life was rooted in family and community. He is survived by his devoted wife, Cynthia Arthur Jenkins of Houston, TX; his beloved daughter, Tanisha S. Jenkins of Houston, TX, and sons, Terence (Michelle) Jenkins and Adrian L. Jenkins, also of Houston, TX. Percy was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren, Terrance Jenkins, Madisyn Jenkins, Megan Jenkins, Farrayn Jenkins, Mya Jenkins and Kendra Jenkins and cherished the joy brought by his three great-grandchildren, Reagan Gamble, Deshaun Gamble and Choisy Jones.

His sisters, Vera Jenkins Booker of Valley Grande, AL; Earnestine J. Henley of Cleveland, OH; Claudine J. (Levi) Chatman of Alpine, AL; Georgia Holt of Atlanta, GA; and Margaret J. (Wallace) Barclay of Alpine, AL; brothers, John (Mary) Jenkins of Montgomery, AL and Kenneth (Deborah) Jenkins of Dothan, AL, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, will continue to carry his legacy of love and resilience.

In addition to his immediate family, Percy leaves behind his three brothers-in-law, Rev. Bobby (the late Maggie) Welch of Talladega, AL; James E. (the late Marjorie J.) Chapman of Alpine, AL and George W. (the late Juanita) Smith of Talladega, AL; a goddaughter, Synomia Reddick; as well as special friends, Leon Estelle, LeCurtis Brown, Ray Tyson, Junior Holmes, and Nathaniel Seals, who were unwavering in their friendship and support.

Percy Levon Jenkins, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, departed this life on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at the age of 73. Percy was predeceased by his parents, Perry and Ethel Jenkins; his sisters, Earlene J. Smith, Maggie J. Welch and Marjorie Chapman, Marilyn Pinkston, and Juanita J. Smith; and his brother, Willie C. Jenkins.

He will be remembered for the laughter he brought, the love he shared, and the legacy that endures through the many lives he touched. He may have passed from this world, but he remains ever-present in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
