Diane Prout

Passed 07/10/2026

On July 10, 2026, Diane S. Prout stepped peacefully into eternal rest, embraced by the love of her family and the grace of God. Born on June 23, 1964, in Brooklyn, NY, Diane's early years were shaped in love, family, and faith. After the passing of her mother in 1975, Diane and her sister, Debra, moved to Castalia, NC, where they were lovingly raised by her mother's nephew, Charlie Carroll. Through every chapter of her life, Diane carried a quiet resilience and a sweet, gentle spirit that touched everyone she encountered.

For 31 years,Diane faithfully served at Powerhouse of Jesus Christ in Raleigh, NC, pouring her heart into ministry, fellowship, and the spiritual growth of others. She especially cherished singing on the Praise Team, lifting her voice in worship with sincerity, joy, and devotion. Through song, she encouraged others, strengthened their faith, and helped create an atmosphere where God's presence could be felt deeply.

Though Diane had no children of her own, she became a mother-figure to many. She helped raise her nieces and nephews, and she lovingly guided countless children within the PHC family - children who are now adults and carry her influence in their hearts and lives. Her nurturing spirit, patience, and kindness shaped generations. Diane was also an amazing step - mother to Zenita Sade' Prout and Noah Williams, embracing them with the same love, care, and devotion she shared with everyone she helped raise.

To her husband, Richard D. Prout II, Diane was a blessing beyond words - a partner whose devotion, wisdom, and kindness shaped a lifetime of shared joy. Her presence was a sanctuary, her voice a reassurance, and her love a guiding light.

Diane's legacy is woven into the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves behind a tapestry of memories filled with laughter, tenderness, and the steady warmth of her spirit. Her life was a reflection of God's love, and her journey now continues in His eternal care. Her favorite scripture, Jeremiah 29:11, was a source of strength and hope throughout he life, reminding her - and all who knew her - that God's plans are filled with purpose, peace, and promise.

Memorial service will be held 12:30 pm on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at The Farm at 42, 1075 Lynch Road in Selma, NC 27576.
