Eleanor Rose Reed Garrett, lovingly called “Edna Rose” lived a life deeply rooted in faith and dedicated to service. From a young age, she understood the meaning of giving herself, lifting others up, and walking in her purpose. She began her career at Elizabeth Luden Hospital, where she contributed to the very first pilot program for Easter Seals. Even then, she was drawn to the healing work-meeting people where they were and helping them find their way forward.

Her calling only grew stronger. She served the State of Georgia as a Master Level Substance Abuse Counselor for over 24 years, offering tireless and compassionate service. She poured her heart into her work, listening without judgement, guiding with wisdom, and fighting for those who often struggled to fight for themselves. Her impact extended beyond her workday-she carried her clients in her prayers, thoughts, and heart.

She didn't just work in service; she lived in service. As a proud member of the American Businesswomen's Association Debouche Chapter, she uplifted other women and helped create opportunities for growth and leadership. She faithfully served as a Stewardess and Missionary, continuing her lifelong commitment to her church and community.

Everything she did-every role she held, every person she helped, every life she touched-reflected her belief in doing God's work. She understood that service is love in action, and she gave that love freely, consistently, and with a grace that made people feel seen, supported, and valued.

Her legacy is one of faith, compassion, excellence, and unwavering dedication. She showed us what it means to live with purpose and to serve with your whole heart. Eleanor Rose was preceded in death by her parents; grandfather, Wiley Harper; grandmother, Jennie Harper, her sister, Gloria Ann Lewis, her brothers, Daniel Reed, Billy and Douglass Reed.

She is survived by her son, James Garrett, her daughter, Samaria Garrett, her granddaughter, Jiesha Garrett, her great-granddaugher, Aariana Garrett and her great-grandson, Aaron Robinson, her nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives, family and friends.
