Jacobie Shyhiem Amos, born July 12, 1994, at Stuttgart Memorial Hospital, was the beloved son of Shadra Gaither and Eric Amos. At a young age, Jacobie was baptized and gave his life to Christ, accepting Him as his Lord and Savior.

Jacobie attended the Clarendon Public School System and graduated in 2013, where he proudly played football. He later earned his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Central Arkansas in 2018. His passion for mental health shaped much of his life’s purpose, and he continuously strived to be a positive role model for young men.

Jacobie had an infectious personality and a heart of gold. He loved to dance, make others laugh, and bring joy wherever he went. He saw the good in everyone and carried a deep desire for knowledge. Guided by boundless curiosity, Jacobie refused to be defined by a single calling. He approached life as an endless opportunity to learn, transitioning gracefully across different fields and bringing his vibrant energy to every new endeavor.

Whether mastering a new trade, solving a complex problem, or exploring a fresh passion, Jacobie threw himself wholeheartedly into the challenge. His dynamic journey was a true reflection of his multifaceted mind and enduring spirit.

Jacobie is preceded in death by his father, Eric Amos; his paternal grandmother, Florence Amos Walker; his maternal grandmother, Betty Gaither; and his nephew, Syncere Brown.

His spirit will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him, including his devoted mother Shadra Gaither of Memphis, TN; his sisters Tashmia Brown (Kris), Matellia Gaither, Adrianna Barlow Amos, all of Memphis, TN; and Qeesha Owens of Arkansas. He is also survived by his brothers LaEric West of Texas and Ramond Amos of Arkansas.

Jacobie leaves behind his grandfathers Henry Pulling of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and James Jackson of Little Rock, Arkansas.

He is deeply loved by his uncles and aunts: Steve Armour of Rowlett, Texas; Latin Hampton of Little Rock, Arkansas; Toby Parker of Lewisville, Texas; Bobbie Smith (Dante) of Forney, Texas; Lee Parker of Clarendon, Arkansas; Tasha Amos of Clarendon, Arkansas; and Derick Amos.

Jacobie’s loving tribe of nephews — Jaiden, Jay’Shun, Jordin, Jamari, Adrian, and Jaylen — will forever carry his memory. He also leaves behind his special cousins Keionna Amos and Jacquon Harris, a host of family and friends, his best friend Pas’Sion Blanks, and a very special friend Queesi.

Jacobie touched every life he encountered. His light, laughter, and love will be truly missed.
