Joe Louis Hancock was born on Wednesday, November 20, 1935, to the late William Zachariah Hancock and Onella Hancock.
Joe was a member of Jacobs Chapel CME Church. He was educated in the Talladega Public School System. He was also a proud member of the Masonic Lodge. Joe was known for his dedication and craftsmanship as a talented brick mason. He spent many years working for the Kimberly-Clark Corporation before retiring.
Brick laying was not only his profession but also one of his greatest joys and a cherished pastime.
Joe's legacy will be carried on by his loving wife of 65 years, Lois Hancock; his two sons, Rodney and Bruce Hancock; and his three grandchildren, who brought endless joy to his life. He leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends who will miss his warmth and wisdom.
Joe passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at the age of 90. He is reunited with his parents and siblings, James Hancock, Charles Hancock, Sarah Curry and Ruby Curry.
Joe Louis Hancock will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his devotion to family and community, and his passion for his craft. His influence and guidance remain a significant part of everyone’s lives he touched. His spirit will forever live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
