April was born on January 1, 1979, to Etta Bell McIntyre and the late James “Benny Bo” McIntyre, proudly entering the world as the first child born in the New Year. She truly exemplified the spirit of a “quiet storm.” Although she was naturally soft-spoken and humble, her presence was powerful.

April lived to love. She found joy in collecting sneakers, expressing herself through crafting, and creating meaningful memories with family and friends. She was the proud owner and operator of K and A Soul, LLC, where her creativity, passion, and entrepreneurial spirit flourished.

Above all, April was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished stepmother, adoring grandmother, faithful daughter, caring sister, aunt, godmother, cousin, and loyal friend. She devoted her life to her family and treasured every moment spent with those she loved. Her warm smile, gentle heart, unwavering faith, and selfless spirit left an unforgettable impression on everyone blessed to know her. Whether offering words of encouragement, a listening ear, or simply her comforting presence, April had a remarkable gift for making others feel loved and valued.

Her devoted husband, Keith Samuel; her beloved children, Ja’Quise Bowdry and Oscyon Knolton; her cherished stepdaughter, Sequoia Samuel-Dawson; her treasured grandson, Ja’Quise Bowdry Jr.; her loving mother, Etta Bell McIntyre; her beloved mother-in-law, Nanny Rogers; and her cherished siblings, Adolphus Thomas, Ucher (Anthony) Dent, Faye McIntyre, Sandra McIntyre, and Guy McIntyre.
