Mrs. Dorothy Ford Mitchell, 83, departed this life on Monday, July 27, 2026 at Atrium Health-Cleveland in Shelby, NC. She was born in Cleveland County, NC on September 17, 1942 to the late James Ford and the late Irene Dawkins Ford.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026 at 1:30 PM at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 1:30 PM on Friday at the chapel and also at 2325 China Ave. in Shelby on Wednesday, July 29th and Thursday, July 30th from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
