From his earliest years, Michael displayed a quiet strength, a kind heart, and a deep appreciation for family-qualities that would define his life and the legacy he leaves behind. Having received his formal education in the Muscogee County School System, Michael was a 1984 graduate of Jordan High School. During his high school years, Michael developed a lifelong appreciation for music as a talented bass player in the Jordan High School orchestra. His love for music spanned many genres, including country music, and he also proudly represented his school as a member of the Red Jackets football team. In 1997, he answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army. After his military service, he built a distinguished career with Georgia Power Company, where he retired after more than twenty years of dedicated service. Michael took great pride in providing for his family and exemplified the values of hard work, integrity, and commitment throughout his life.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Michael confessed Christ as his personal Savior and united with Fourth Street Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Johnny H. Flakes, III. His faith guided the compassion, humility, and generosity he showed to others. On May 18, 2019, Michael was united in Holy Matrimony to the love of his life, Kimberly Denise Grier. Together they built a marriage rooted in love, devotion, respect, and unwavering support. Michael was a dutiful husband and faithful provider who often placed the needs of others before his own. To know Michael was to know a man who genuinely loved his family. He treasured every opportunity to spend with them. Even during life's most difficult moments, Michael remained resilient, meeting every challenge with courage and grace. His quiet strength touched countless lives and will never be forgotten.
