Mr. John L. Davis, 83, of Utica, Mississippi, was born on July 28, 1943, to the late Sam Davis and Savannah Truly Davis. He was a devoted educator and retired as a professional chef.

Mr. Davis transitioned peacefully at his home on July 28, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

He is survived by his two sons Nelson Stamps of Utica, MS and John Earl Stamps of Crystal Springs, MS. one brother Charles Davis of Utica, MS; three sisters, Barbara Booker (Walter) of Clinton, MS; Edna Nichols of Ridgeland, MS and Cassandra Terry of Florence, MS.
