We celebrate the life and legacy of Mr. Hubert “Duman” Bonds. Duman, as he was called by many, was born on October 10, 1949, to the late Mr. & Mrs. Otha and Mattie Francis Bonds. He was raised in Oglethorpe County for many years until he later moved to Boston, Massachusetts in his adult life. After many years in Boston, Duman returned home to Georgia where he met and made many friends. He is preceded by death by three brothers and four sisters.

On the early morning of August 4, 2026, he departed this life into eternal rest. He was loved by many and will always be remembered for his fun and joking manner. He leaves to cherish his many memories to a daughter, Sonya Thomas of Chicago, IL and a son, Corey Bonds of Boston, MA, and one granddaughter, Orionna Cox. Four sisters: Dorothy Baughns and Jerrie P. Bonds of Crawford, GA; Shelley Rivers of Rochester, NY and Michelle Scott of Athens, GA. He also leaves a very special friend, Ms. Sandra Calhoun of Elberton, GA, with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
