Gilda Remonda Bussey Williams, 77, of Sarasota, FL, passed away on August 8, 2026. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Fri., August 14, 2026 at Greater Hurst Chapel AME Church. Services will be held 10:00am on Sat., August 15, 2026 at Greater Hurst Chapel AME Church. Burial will be held at Mansion Memorial Park. Funeral arrangements by Jones Funeral Home.

Gilda was born in Sarasota, FL on June 19, 1949. She attended Booker High School and was the class of 1967. She moved/relocated to Philly City of Brotherly Love for many years and returned to Florida

Early in 1986 she started her career with Sarasota County School Board in several capacities until retirement as head custodian at Tuttle Elementary after 29years of service in 2015. She later went on to work with the youth at the Boys and Girls Club (She really loved the kids).

She is preceded in death by her mother, Gladys Williams; son, Dexter B. Williams Sr.; brother, Paul Williams and Rickey Williams; sisters, Lillian Howell, and Cynthia Duncan (Robert Duncan); niece, Tamika Howell; nephew, Andrew Howell.

Gilda leaves to cherish her memories: son, Anthony Waters; daughter, Dinna Wright; brother, Edward Lee Williams; grandchildren, Delexi Williams, Dexter Williams Jr., Terron Brown, Kareema Keel, Raje Farmer, Ebony Williams, Larvetta Parker, Gerald Peterson, Asa Peterson, Brook Moore, Kerington Moore, Sky Watters, Shamyren Watters, Anthony Cheatham and Jeria Wright; 19 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving friends.
