Ethel Mae Jones

Mrs. Ethel Mae Jones, beloved mother, sister, and cherished friend, peacefully departed this life on August 4, 2026, at the age of 83. Born, to the union of James Singletary and Lucille (Griffith) Singletary, on April 3, 1943, in Struthers, Ohio.

After graduating from the Rayen School in 1961, Ethel dedicated her life to caring for others, serving as a nurse's aide at Autumn Hills Nursing, where her unwavering dedication brought comfort and support to countless residents in the long-term care facility. Her nurturing nature and commitment to her vocation exemplified her deep empathy and love for others.

Ethel was united in holy matrimony to William Edwards Jones building a life and home, together, until parted by his passing. She was a beacon of love and compassion to all who knew her. Her gentle spirit and warm smile touched the lives of many.

Ethel leaves behind her devoted son, Jerome Jones, as well as her beloved sisters, Sue Hill and Myrtis Owens, along with a host of cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Their hearts, forever intertwined with Ethel's loving memory, will carry her legacy forward.

Besides her parents and spouse, Ethel was preceded in death by her daughter Leslie Jones; siblings James Oscar Singletary, Lula Singletary, Ida Bell Singletary and grandson Mark Anthny Jones Sr.

In this time of deep reflection, we honor Ethel's life and the profound love she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will continue to inspire and comfort us as we carry her spirit in our hearts.

However, let us remember Ethel not just for the love she gave, but for the lives she touched with her kindness and grace. The Jones Family invites the community to share in the celebration of Ethel's life. A 10:00 AM public viewing will take place at the Jaylex Event Center, 2110 Glenwood Ave. on Monday August 17, 2026, followed by a funeral Service at 11:00 AM with her niece, Pastor Marla Daniels officiating.
