Crowley, Louisiana — Funeral services for Ms. Norma Jean Malbrue, age 61, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at Greater Love Church, located at 1001 North Avenue E in Crowley, Louisiana. Ms. Malbrue entered eternal rest on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at her residence in Crowley. Pastor Akin Bandele will officiate the service.

Norma Jean was a woman who was unapologetically herself. She was known for speaking her mind and saying exactly what was on her heart. Those who knew her knew that she did not believe in holding back her thoughts and that honesty was simply a part of who she was. Beneath her strong personality was a heart of gold, filled with love and compassion for the people she cared about.

Norma Jean leaves behind a legacy of love, memories, and moments that will forever be cherished by her family and friends. Though her life was not without its challenges, she touched the lives of those around her in ways that will continue to live on.

She is survived by her son, Lexy (Erica) Malbrue of Fresno, TX; her two daughters, Cherish Gradnigo (Joel) and Chyna Mouton, both of Lake Charles, LA; her sisters, Barbara Mayfield of Crowley, LA, and Minister Betty (Pastor Akin) Bandele of Richmond, TX; her eight grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Jeanette Guillory Malbrue, Sr., and her two brothers, Eugene Malbrue, Jr. and Gene Malbrue.

Norma Jean may no longer be with us physically, but the memories of her laughter, her strong spirit, her outspoken ways, and most of all, her heart of gold, will remain with those who loved her. Her life was uniquely her own, and she will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at Greater Love Church in Crowley, Louisiana.
