John W. Simmons, 96, was called to rest on Thursday, August 13, 2026.

Service arrangements are pending at West Street Christian Church 721 West Street. The Interment will follow at New Bern Memorial.

He is survived by his sons and daughters, Ronald Simmons, Dennis Simmons, Morris Simmons, all of New Bern, Lorraine Simmons Perry, Georgia, Beverly Simmons Williams and Gregory Simmons of New Bern; seventeen grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.
