Sammie Starks, 55, of Phenix City, AL passed on Sunday, July 12, 2026.

Sammie Terrell Starks, 55, of Phenix City, Alabama, was born on October 2, 1970, to the late Benny and Dorothy (Etchin) Starks in Beloit, Wisconsin. He passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026, in the comfort of his own home.

Sammie Terrell Starks was a man of many talents. Throughout his life, Sammie worked in the food service industry, where he became known as a talented cook who took pride in preparing meals for others. Later, he earned his Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), embracing a new opportunity. He cherished the experiences he gained along his journey and the people he met along the way, carrying those memories with him throughout his life.

Sammie was preceded in death by his parents, Benny L. Starks, Sr. and Dorothy L. Starks.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory one son, Terrell S. Hardiman of Grand Rapids, MI; two daughters, Treyonna N. Pickett of Columbus, GA and Erica M. Hardiman of Grand Rapids, MI; one granddaughter, Braylin Pickett (Treyonna); one brother, Benny L. Starks, Jr. of Washington, D.C.; and one sister, LaTonja R. Starks of Phenix City, AL; five nieces; three nephews; a host of great-nieces and great-nephews; his devoted best friend, Theotis Johnson; and a host of other relatives and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
