His service as a judge for the Lowndes County Juvenile Court, along with his judicial leadership in surrounding courts, stands as a lasting testament to his character, his discipline, and his desire to make a meaningful difference.

The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 1:00 PM from the historic and hallowed Historic Macedonia Baptist Church, located at 715 JL Lomax Drive, Valdosta, Georgia.

As an Attorney and Judge, the Honorable James F. Council, Jr. devoted himself to the principles upon which a just society depends—law, fairness, responsibility, advocacy, and the pursuit of justice. His professional journey placed him in positions of trust where decisions carried consequence and where integrity, wisdom, and discernment mattered.

He understood that the law was more than statutes and proceedings; it was about people. It was about families, communities, rights, responsibilities, and the pursuit of what is fair and right.

His service as a member of the legal profession and as a Judge represents a significant chapter in the story of his life.
