Mother Geraldine Judd James was born November 14, 1946, to the late Fred Judd and Mary Uver Judd. Geraldine entered into eternal rest on June 18, 2026, at Rex Hospital Raleigh, North Carolina.

Geraldine attended Fuquay Consolidated High School and dedicated 45 years of service to Lufkin in Apex, North Carolina, retiring in 2012. She was raised at Sweet Springs CME Church and later became a devoted member of St. Augusta Free Will Baptist Church, where she faithfully served on the Mother Board and sang with the Mass Choir.

As a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Geraldine never met a stranger. She was always smiling, cheerful, and full of love. She enjoyed singing, cooking, and spending time with her family, who meant everything to her. Known for her impeccable style, Geraldine loved dressing up. Her hats and purses always had to perfectly match her outfits. Strong, loving, and full of wisdom, she was truly the heart and Queen of the family. and her love and legacy will forever be cherished.

Geraldine leaves to cherish her loving memories; her devoted husband, Johnnie James, Sr., and children, Johnnie James, Jr. (Kim), Alicia Jones, Nicholas Wilson, and Candance Wilson. She was a proud and loving grandmother to LaShonda Brown, Christopher Brown, Bianca Brown, Lisa Wilson, Delshaun Brown, Kasheka Brown, Jala James, and Kendall James. She also leaves behind one sister, Jennifer Judd McKoy; one brother, Jerry Judd (Mavis); brother-in-law, Burnice James (Linda) and Willie Earl James (Jocelyn); one sister-in-law, Essie Allen; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She shared a special bond with her special daughter, Christine McNeill; two special nephews, Anthony Morris and Brand'n McClain; and her dear friend, Koren Hailey.

Though she will be deeply missed, her love, wisdom, and beautiful spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
